When the court sends us the Support Deduction Order for the payor and they are your employee, we send a Support Deduction Notice to you.

When you receive it, you have up to 14 days to set up the deductions with your payroll system.

On the first payday after this 14-day period, you have to begin deducting support from the employee's net pay.

There is a period of time between the court order and the time you start to make the payroll deductions. During this time, your employee is responsible for sending support payments directly to us.

If your employee does not make these payments, the support deduction notice will tell you that there are arrears that you will also need to deduct.
